The Tecumseh Indians will head out to take on the Pinckney Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Tecumseh barely beat Pioneer the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians never let the Pioneers get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Wednesday. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Maya Juozapaitis, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Sophia Torres was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Pinckney got the win against Huron on Thursday by a conclusive 15-0. The Pirates are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the third match they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Natally Pease made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pease was even better at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Mackenzie Burns was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Wroblewski, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Pinckney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .731. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Huron only posted an OBP of .417.
Pinckney's record now sits at 4-2. As for Tecumseh, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Tecumseh has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Pinckney struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Tecumseh's way against Pinckney in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Tecumseh made off with a 13-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
