Softball Recap: Hermann Bearcats vs. Van-Far Indians
Hermann was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Van-Far Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bearcats of the 14-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2018.
Delilah Nobel was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. What's more, she also posted a .667 batting average, which is the highestshe's posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Alivia Witthaus, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Hermann's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Van-Far, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-16.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Bearcats takes on Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Van-Far, they will face off against Clopton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
