Basketball Recap: Wadena-Deer Creek Extends Winning Streak to Four

Wadena-Deer Creek came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with an 80-69 victory over the Pine River-Backus Tigers. 80 seems to be a good number for the Wolverines as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Wadena-Deer Creek's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-16. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Pine River-Backus, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.
