Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lake Region couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Lake Wales Highlanders by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday. The Thunder's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Bailee Ellis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Margaret Jenkins was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Lake Region's loss dropped their record down to 25-4. As for Lake Wales, they pushed their record up to 16-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Lake Region does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Wales, they will square off against Eau Gallie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Commodores will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Highlanders surely won't give up without a fight.
