Baseball Recap: Lourdes Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lourdes, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Byron Bears 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 21st.

Nicholas Bowron was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Lourdes: the team is 7-3 when he posts at least one home run, but 2-4 otherwise.

Lourdes' win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Byron, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lourdes will take on Dover-Eyota at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dover-Eyota has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.4 runs per game on average), something Lourdes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Byron, they will challenge John Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
