Basketball Game Preview: Shawnee Braves vs. Indian Lake Lakers

The Shawnee Braves will head out on the road to take on the Indian Lake Lakers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Shawnee is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against London on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Shawnee was beaten by London 63-30. The Braves have struggled against the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Indian Lake came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 55-37. The Lakers pushed the score to 43-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

Indian Lake is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Shawnee, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Shawnee came up short against Indian Lake in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 50-40. Can Shawnee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
