Football Recap: Chandler Prep Takes Down Alchesay in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Chandler Prep rose to the challenge on Friday. They secured a 26-21 W over the Alchesay Falcons.

A big part of Chandler Prep's victory came down to the chemistry between Aaron Crawford and his top target Oliver Rodriguez. Crawford picked up 79 receiving yards and a pair of scores while Rodriguez rushed for 177 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

Chandler Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Crawford led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

When it comes to explaining why Alchesay lost, don't look at Austin Mason. Despite the final result, he picked up 112 receiving yards, and also rushed for 70 yards. The Falcons also got a significant boost from Kenyon Parker, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.

Chandler Prep pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.2 points on average over those games. As for Alchesay, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.

Looking ahead, Chandler Prep is taking a road trip to square off against St. Johns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Redskins' defense has only allowed 10.8 points per game this season, so the Titans' offense will have their work cut out for them. Alchesay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
