The Taft Toreadors will square off against the King/Drew Golden Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Taft comes in on three and King/Drew on five.
Taft is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Sherman Oaks CES as they made off with a 17-4 win. 17 seems to be a good number for the Toreadors as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Chiara Cioffi made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alexandra Chase, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimi Meneses, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Taft kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, King/Drew got the win against Wilson on Friday by a conclusive 19-1. Considering the Golden Eagles have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Taft, King/Drew also got a great game from a two-way player: Jordan Garcia. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Garcia was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Xeniya Anderson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Brooklyn Walker was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Taft's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for King/Drew, their victory bumped their record up to 13-14.
