Baseball Recap: Nichols Takes a Loss

If Nichols was feeling good fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Canisius last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings fell just short of the St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Marauders by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

Max Langer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

Nichols' defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

While Nichols had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
