Maury is a perfect 8-0 against Manor since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Commodores will host the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Manor will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Maury extended their winning streak to seven on Friday. The Commodores took their contest with ease, bagging a 42-14 win over Lake Taylor. Given the Commodores' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked second, while the Titans are ranked 46th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Manor hadn't done well against Booker T. Washington recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Mustangs breezed past the Mighty Bookers to the tune of 48-8.

Manor found their leader in freshman Tyrell Benton, who threw for 384 yards and five TDs while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt. The Mustangs are 2-1 when Benton posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise. Delvontae Crosby was another key player, rushing for 62 yards and one score on only eight carries.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Manor's defense and their six sacks. Leading the way was Zaeveyon Wiggins with three.

Maury's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Manor, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Maury against Manor in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 97-0 victory. Will the Commodores repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
