Flowery Branch won the last time they faced Cedar Shoals and things went their way on Thursday too. The Falcons claimed a resounding 42-8 win over the Jaguars. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for the Falcons this season.

Flowery Branch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Griffin Harper led the charge by rushing for 115 yards and two scores, while also picking up 30 receiving yards. The Falcons are undefeated when Harper posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise. Brett Strum was another key signal caller, throwing for 191 yards on only 17 passes.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Flowery Branch proved: they limited Cedar Shoals to a paltry -0.6 yards per carry. While one picked up at least three total tackles, Harper stood above the rest. He rushed for 115 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 30 receiving yards. Flowery Branch's ground attack was stronger, having averaged five.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Flowery Branch, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ryland Garrison, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Flowery Branch's record now sits at 7-3. As for Cedar Shoals, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
