Basketball Recap: Mechanicsville Comes Up Short

Mechanicsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt an 81-40 defeat at the hands of the Henrico Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 92-38 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Mechanicsville now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Henrico, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Mechanicsville and Armstrong will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Henrico, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hanover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Henrico knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Hanover likes a good challenge.
