Baseball Recap: Maconaquah's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Maconaquah dropped their record down to 7-4 on Saturday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 11-1 to the Eastern Comets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Braves of the 15-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Maconaquah saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kobe Bowman, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Eastern, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4. Considering they have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

On Eastern's side, the team relied heavily on Trey Beachy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Beachy has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Kaleb Hurt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Maconaquah will be playing at home against Lewis Cass at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Braves are facing the Kings at the right time seeing as the Kings are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Eastern, they will head out to take on Western at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Comets surely won't give up without a fight.
