Volleyball Recap: Mendota Takes a Loss

Mendota was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hall Red Devils. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-20.

Mariyah Elam paced Mendota's offense, picking up nine kills. Elam got some help from Eva Beetz and her 16 assists. Finally, Elam was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Mendota's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Hall, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-16-1.

Looking ahead, Mendota will welcome Somonauk at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hall, they will head out to challenge Erie-Prophetstown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
