Baseball Recap: Marquette Has No Trouble Against Menominee

Marquette had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Menominee on Monday. The Sentinels blew past the Maroons 16-6. The Sentinels haven't had any issues with the Maroons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Gib Jezewski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Alex Brennan was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with six RBI and one run. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Desmond Gleason was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Marquette's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Menominee, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Marquette beat the Maroons by a score of 5-4 later that day.
