Basketball Recap: Willow Canyon Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

Willow Canyon had won nine straight home games dating back to last season and Maurice Carter II did his part to make it ten on Monday. The Willow Canyon Wildcats skirted past the Ironwood Eagles 74-71 thanks in part to Carter II, who went 8 for 11 en route to 26 points along with five assists and three steals. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Daniel Garza was another key player, putting up three points in addition to seven boards and six steals. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played.

Willow Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Ironwood, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-6.

Willow Canyon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-63 win against Centennial on the 29th. As for Ironwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 89-67 victory against Kellis on the 29th.
