Baseball Recap: Mainland Takes a Loss

Mainland fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Father Lopez on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Father Lopez Green Wave by a score of 3-2. The contest marked the Buccaneers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Trevor Pittman was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Mainland is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5. As for Father Lopez, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mainland will venture away from home to take on Wekiva at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wekiva is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Father Lopez, they will head out to face off against Palatka at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palatka will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
