Basketball Game Preview: Eldred Yellowjackets vs. Tri-Valley Bears

Eldred hasn't had much luck against Tri-Valley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eldred Yellowjackets will host the Tri-Valley Bears at 6:30 p.m. Eldred is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.7 points per game this season.

While Eldred didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They secured a 48-42 W over Livingston Manor on Thursday.

It was another big night for James Deyermond, who went 10 for 12 on his way to 20 points and seven rebounds. The matchup was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Koen McGill, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tri-Valley). Everything went their way against Livingston Manor back in December of 2024 as Tri-Valley made off with a 57-32 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Eldred's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Tri-Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
