The Brighton Cardinals will venture away from home to take on the Covington Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brighton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Brighton after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fayette Academy. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brighton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Glass, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Covington made sure to put some runs up on the board against Tipton-Rosemark Academy on Friday. Covington was the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over Tipton-Rosemark Academy. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

With the victory, Covington broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-8. As for Brighton, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Brighton skirted past Covington 5-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brighton since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
