Basketball Recap: Judge Memorial Catholic Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

If Summit Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Judge Memorial Catholic, they should've done a better job of containing JJ Apathjang. The Judge Memorial Catholic Bulldogs took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 88-38 victory over the Summit Academy Bears thanks in part to Apathjang, who dropped a double-double on 39 points and 11 rebounds. His evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Majak Deng, who went 7 of 10 en route to 14 points along with six boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Despite the loss, Summit Academy still got an impressive performance from Nixon Savage, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Dominik Ruiz also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Judge Memorial Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for Summit Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.
