Basketball Game Preview: Hermiston Bulldogs vs. Ridgeline Falcons

The Hermiston Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Ridgeline Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hermiston is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Hermiston ended up a good deal behind Richland and lost 73-57.

Meanwhile, Ridgeline faced Central Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Ridgeline took a hard 56-40 fall against Central Valley. The Falcons have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Hermiston will have to contain Emma Myers as she made an impact in Ridgeline's last game. She posted 25 points and seven boards. Myers' evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madilyn Crowley, who put up six points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Ridgeline smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Ridgeline's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 17-3. As for Hermiston, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Hermiston took a serious blow against Ridgeline in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 77-48. Can Hermiston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
