Baseball Recap: Timber Creek's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

It was a good run, but Timber Creek unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since April 5, 2024.

Hunter Wieckowski was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Timber Creek saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Miranda, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI. The dominant performance gave Miranda a new career-high in RBI.

Even though they lost, Timber Creek hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Windermere struck out eight times.

Timber Creek's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Windermere, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Timber Creek and Windermere should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Timber Creek will challenge Oviedo at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday up 183 places (78 vs. 261). Timber Creek is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Similarly, Windermere (ranked sixth) will meet Olympia (ranked 305th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Timber Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Windermere's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
