Softball Recap: St. Mary Catholic Comes Up Short

St. Mary Catholic blew Hilbert out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Hilbert got their revenge. The Zephyrs fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Zephyrs have suffered since May 16, 2024.

Emily Vogel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Scarlett Reichenbacher, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

St. Mary Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Hilbert, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Mary Catholic will welcome Shiocton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hilbert, they will face off against Oostburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
