Basketball Recap: Celina Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Celina hadn't done well against Ursuline Academy recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Celina Bobcats walked away with a 53-46 victory over the Ursuline Academy Bears. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 54-38 win the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Ursuline Academy lost, don't look at Lily Smith. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. Smith's morning made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Ursuline Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Parish Episcopal at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ursuline Academy is facing Parish Episcopal at the right time seeing as Parish Episcopal is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
