Norris and Skutt Catholic are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Norris Titans will challenge the Skutt Catholic SkyHawks at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Norris was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Seward on Saturday. Norris put the hurt on Seward with a sharp 52-30 win. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Bluejays: they've now won seven in a row.

Norris' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ize Tidball, who went 5-for-9 en route to 13 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Marlee Emerson, who posted 15 points.

Meanwhile, Skutt Catholic had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.4 points) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 75-54 margin over the Orangemen. Given the SkyHawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Orangemen are ranked 79th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Skutt Catholic's victory was their 27th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points over those games. As for Norris, their record is now 16-8.

Norris came up short against Skutt Catholic when the teams last played back in February, falling 56-50. Can Norris avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
