Basketball Recap: Hendersonville Commandos vs. Overton Bobcats
There's no place like home for Hendersonville, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against the Overton Bobcats by a score of 52-44 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Commandos also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.
Overton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryleigh Meanus, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Elijah Browne, who put up eight points.
The victory got Hendersonville back to even at 10-10. As for Overton, they dropped their record down to 12-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Looking ahead, Hendersonville will square off against Beech on Tuesday. Beech knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Hendersonville likes a good challenge. Overton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
