Volleyball Recap: Standley Lake Finds Playoff Glory Versus Mullen

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Standley Lake had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Mullen Mustangs by a score of 3-1.

Jojo Martin paced Standley Lake's offense, picking up 18 kills. Martin got some help from Sophia Lambrecht-Gardner and her 18 assists. Finally, Jenna Warwick kept Standley Lake's defense grounded, leading the team with nine blocks.

Mullen's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Milli Mares, who had 18 assists and ten digs. Another player making a difference was Annie Ancheta, who had 20 assists and ten digs.

Standley Lake's victory bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Mullen, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-8.

Standley Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Battle Mountain on the 14th. Mullen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
