Hernando fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against East Union on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Urchins by a score of 2-1. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Madeline Sowell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Graycin Higginbotham was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Hernando's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for East Union, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Hernando will welcome Madison Central at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Jaguars will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for East Union, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Myrtle at 4:00 p.m.
