Softball Recap: Vallejo Plays to a Tie

On Wednesday, the Vallejo Redhawks and the Hercules Titans finished up their contest with an 8-8 tie.

Maddie Melgoza spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on two hits and racked up seven Ks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.

With that tie, Vallejo's record moves to 1-1-1. As for Hercules, they moved theirs to 1-0-1.

Coincidentally, Vallejo and Hercules will both be playing Richmond the next time they take the field. Vallejo will host Richmond at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while Hercules will host them at 4:00 p.m. on March 5th.
