Basketball Recap: Trinity International Comes Up Short

Trinity International lost against American Heritage Academy back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Trinity International Thunder lost to the American Heritage Academy Patriots at home by a 54-35 margin. The Thunder's loss continues a trend for the team, making it 15 in a row dating back to last season.

American Heritage Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Rodrigues, who went 9 of 16 en route to 22 points along with six assists and six boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Rodrigues has scored at least a third of American Heritage Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Wirig, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Trinity International's record is now 0-3. As for American Heritage Academy, with the win, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity International will venture away from home to face off against Liberty Baptist Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for American Heritage Academy, they will head out to square off against Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
