Football Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Chartiers-Houston's Winning Streak + How To Watch

Chartiers-Houston and Laurel squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Chartiers-Houston had to settle for second. They took a 40-21 bruising from the Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Spartans are ranked 72nd).

Kolton Carlson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 116 yards on only nine carries, while also picking up 53 receiving yards for Laurel. Carlson's longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

With the defeat, Chartiers-Houston broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4. As for Laurel, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

Chartiers-Houston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laurel, they will challenge Fort Cherry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Rangers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
