Basketball Recap: Edgewood Sets Scoring Season-High Against Palestine

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Edgewood). They came out on top against the Palestine Wildcats by a score of 56-47 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-33 two weeks ago.

Edgewood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jackie Jackman, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. Another player making a difference was Carmen Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Edgewood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.

Edgewood pushed their record up to 5-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Palestine, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-13.

Edgewood will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Malakoff at 2:15 p.m. on December 31st. Palestine and LaPoynor will round out the year against one another at on December 28th.
