Basketball Recap: Dietrich's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Dietrich can now relate to. They fell just short of the Salmon River Savages by a score of 41-39 on Thursday. The Blue Devils' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katilyn Wanamaker, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds. Paje Van Tassell was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Dietrich's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Salmon River, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Dietrich didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-40 win against Nezperce on the 21st. As for Salmon River, they have also already played their next game, a 44-32 defeat against Genesee on the 21st.
