Football Game Preview: Space Coast Vipers vs. Liberty Chargers

The Space Coast Vipers will venture away from home to challenge the Liberty Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Space Coast has three straight victories, Liberty has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Space Coast didn't have too much trouble with Bayside as they won 21-7.

Space Coast's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bradyn Cook, who rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. Cook was even better on defense, forcing one fumble, making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending one pass. Another signal caller making a difference was Zion Sandy, who threw for 125 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Space Coast was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Liberty ended up a good deal behind Celebration on Friday and lost 24-6.

Space Coast's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
