Baseball Game Preview: Gowanda Panthers vs. Portville Panthers

Gowanda are taking a road trip to challenge Portville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Gowanda easily dispatched Portville last Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Panthers fell just short of Nichols by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Portville narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Bradford 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won three in a row.

The win got Portville back to even at 1-1. As for Gowanda, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Everything went Gowanda's way against Portville in their previous matchup last Monday, as Gowanda made off with a 9-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gowanda since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
