Baseball Recap: Rayne Wins Going Away Against Loreauville

Rayne barely beat Loreauville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves blew past the Tigers 10-1 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their two-run performance the game before.

Lon Paul Moody was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Noah Stutes and Rylan Fontenot did most of the damage at the plate: Stutes scored three runs and stole three bases, while Fontenot scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave Stutes a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kainon Suiter, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Rayne's win bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Loreauville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-16.

Coming up, Rayne will head out on the road to face off against Port Barre at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Loreauville, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Teurlings Catholic at 5:00 p.m. The Rebels will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
