            Softball Recap: North Woods grizzlies vs. Cook County Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            North Woods won the last time they faced Cook County and things went their way  on Thursday too. The grizzlies blew past the Vikings 17-5. The result was nothing new for the grizzlies, who have now won four contests by ten  runs or more  so far this season.

 Zoey Burckhardt was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out 12 batters over  seven innings while giving up  four earned runs off   seven  hits (and not a single walk). Burckhardt was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-5 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  three  hits gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Evalyn Thiel was  incredible,  going a perfect 5-for-5 with four  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  doubles. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in April.  Nevada Gauthier was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  stolen base.
 North Woods  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 21  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
The  victory made it two in a row for North Woods and  bumps their season record up to 5-8. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7  runs in those games. As for Cook County,  they are  on  a  14-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
 North Woods has already played their next matchup,  a  12-1  loss against International Falls on the 16th. Cook County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
