Jay County and Woodlan are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Patriots will challenge the Warriors at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Jay County sitting on ten straight victories and Woodlan on 14.

On Thursday, Jay County made easy work of Adams Central and carried off a 17-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Jaelynn Lykins was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brenna Ruble, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Jay County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Adams Central only posted an OBP of .238.

Meanwhile, Woodlan got the win against Bluffton on Thursday by a conclusive 17-2. The Warriors are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the 11th matchup they've won by 6+ runs this season.

Jay County's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.8 runs this season. As for Woodlan, their record is now 15-1.

Jay County came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodlan in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
