Softball Recap: Middleton Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Middleton won the last time they faced Emmett and things went their way on Friday too. The Vikings came out on top in a nail-biter against the Huskies, sneaking past 3-1.

Libby Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kenadi Whitlow was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Rylee Rodriguez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Middleton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Emmett, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-8.

Looking ahead, Middleton will welcome Skyview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Emmett, they will venture away from home to take on Vallivue at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight.
