Basketball Recap: Pine Ridge Skates Past Little Wound with Ease

Pine Ridge won the last time they faced Little Wound and things went their way on Saturday too. The Pine Ridge Thorpes claimed a resounding 67-40 victory over the Little Wound Mustangs. The win was familiar territory for the Thorpes who have now won four matchups in a row.

Pine Ridge was led to victory by Marvin Richard Lll and Anthony Steele. Richard Lll dropped a double-double on 34 points and 13 rebounds, while Steele posted 16 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. Richard Lll's evening made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Caleb Black Feather was another key player, putting up nine points.

Pine Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Pine Ridge's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.2 points. As for Little Wound, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Pine Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 91-74 win against Mahpiya Luta on the 28th. Little Wound has also already played their next game (against Lakota Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
