Baseball Game Preview: Sutton Sammies/Suzies vs. Douglas Tigers

The Sutton Sammies/Suzies will head out on the road to square off against the Douglas Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Sutton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Sutton blew Blackstone-Millville out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Blackstone-Millville got their revenge. The Sammies/Suzies fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 4-2. That's two games in a row now that the Sammies/Suzies have lost by exactly two runs.

Sutton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dante Yantin, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Andrew Cloutier also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Douglas nor Quabbin Regional made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Panthers 5-3.

Sutton has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Douglas, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Sutton couldn't quite finish off Douglas in their previous matchup back in April and fell 9-7. Can the Sammies/Suzies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
