Basketball Game Preview: Parke Heritage Wolves vs. Monrovia Bulldogs

Two dominant guards in Emma Simpson and Zoie Walls are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Parke Heritage Wolves and the Monrovia Bulldogs will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Parke Heritage sitting on seven straight wins and Monrovia on ten.

Parke Heritage is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They took down Southmont 60-44. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Mounties are ranked 218th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Simpson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with 26 points and nine steals. She is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last seven games she's played. Raegan Ramsay was another key player, going 6 of 13 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Parke Heritage was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southmont only racked up seven assists.

Meanwhile, Monrovia beat Covenant Christian 47-35 on Saturday.

Monrovia's win came from a few key players Parke Heritage will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Walls, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Tallent, who posted 11 points.

Parke Heritage's record now sits at 22-4. As for Monrovia, their record is now 20-7.
