Baseball Recap: Churchill County Comes Up Short

Churchill County and The Meadows School squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Churchill County had to settle for second. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. If the Greenwave were looking for revenge after losing 8-3 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Zack Adams was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Adams wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Juarez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Churchill County and nudges their season record down to 21-10-1. As for The Meadows School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Churchill County nor The Meadows School have any future games scheduled.
