Softball Game Preview: Morgan Trojans vs. Ben Lomond Scots

Morgan is a perfect 10-0 against Ben Lomond since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will welcome the Scots at 3:30 p.m. Morgan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.

Morgan's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past West 9-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Lexi Hardman and Joesi Kelly did most of the damage at the plate: Hardman went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Kelly went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Hardman has been hot, having posted three or more hits the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiernee Carter, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Morgan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in ten consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Ben Lomond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-1 to South Summit. That's two games in a row now that the Scots have lost by exactly 18 runs.

Morgan's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Ben Lomond, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything went Morgan's way against Ben Lomond in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Morgan made off with a 26-2 win. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
