Baseball Game Preview: Tyler Knights vs. Cameron Dragons

The Tyler Knights will face off against the Cameron Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tyler is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Grafton just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 9-3 to the Bearcats.

Reese Davis was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Landon Boggs, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Cameron and Tyler, and Tyler kept the tradition alive. The Dragons fell 4-1 to the Knights on Tuesday.

Soier Reed made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Cameron's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Tyler, their loss dropped their record down to 14-16.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Tyler has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cameron struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Tyler beat Cameron 4-1 when the teams last played on Tuesday. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
