Recap: Independence vs. East Mecklenburg
After losing to East Mecklenburg the last time they met, Independence decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Independence took their matchup against East Mecklenburg on Friday 27-17. The success represented a nice turnaround for Independence, who in their last game suffered a tough 7-33 defeat.
The victory bumped Independence's record up to 4-2. The loss dropped East Mecklenburg's record to 1-5.
Independence will stay at home next week against Porter Ridge at 7:00 PM. Unlike Independence, Porter Ridge will be limping in after taking a loss. East Mecklenburg will be staying on the road, facing off against Garinger. Those two teams have had a rocky road up to this point with three consecutive losses for East Mecklenburg and four for Garinger.
