Basketball Game Preview: Cox Falcons vs. Landstown Eagles

Cox hasn't had much luck against Landstown recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Cox Falcons challenge the Landstown Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cox is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Salem 51-48.

Meanwhile, Landstown is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Cardozo. Landstown walked away with a 73-62 victory over Cardozo. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Landstown's win came from a few key players Cox will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Damien Robinson, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 19 points. The game was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Chase Johnson was another key player, going 5 of 6 en route to 14 points.

Landstown is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Cox, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Cox was taken down by Landstown 79-44 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Robinson, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 26 points and five steals.
