Brookfield Central is 0-5 against Kettle Moraine since May of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Lasers at 4:30 p.m. Brookfield Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.2 runs per game this season.
Brookfield Central's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Hamilton hitters got past them. The Lancers came up short against the Chargers on Thursday, falling 12-4. The contest marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Brookfield Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Brand, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Kettle Moraine played in-conference for the first time on Thursday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over Waukesha North. The game was the first time the Lasers have beaten the Northstars on their field since May 17, 2022.
Briella Hack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Sarah Marcheske was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katie Brisk, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Kettle Moraine's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Brookfield Central, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
Kettle Moraine's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brookfield Central has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Kettle Moraine, though, as they've been averaging 12.3 hits. Given Brookfield Central's sizable advantage in that area, the Lasers will need to find a way to close that gap.
