The Cary Academy Chargers are taking a road trip to face off against the Ravenscroft Ravens at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cary Academy will be strutting in after a win while Ravenscroft will be coming in after a loss.
Cary Academy not only won last Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 15, 2024. They blew past Durham Academy 12-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Oliver Swartz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Everett Cagle, who scored two runs and stole a base. Andrew Wessels was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Cary Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Ravenscroft was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against Wake County HomeSchool, falling 7-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Ravens in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.
Cary Academy now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Ravenscroft, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cary Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ravenscroft struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Cary Academy couldn't quite get it done against Ravenscroft in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
