Softball Game Preview: Northwood Chargers vs. Chatham Central Bears

The Northwood Chargers will head out to face off against the Chatham Central Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Northwood made easy work of Graham and carried off an 18-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won four in a row.

Northwood got a massive performance out of Allison Bryant, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave Bryant a new career-high in stolen bases. Emma Payseur also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Northwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .774. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Chatham Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Jordan-Matthews on Thursday, taking the game 7-3.

Sallie Oldham was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Maeson Smith, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Northwood's record now sits at 3-6. As for Chatham Central, their record is now 6-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Northwood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Chatham Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
